The holding page

What was on naimishapress.com before there was a book on it, and why we kept it short.

The Editors, Naimisha Press २ मिनिटे

सध्या फक्त इंग्रजीत

For most of this year the address you are reading this on held a single page. Night ground, one gold rule, the series line, and a sentence: Book Zero is at press. No form, no countdown, no cover.

We kept it that way on purpose. A jacket takes longer than a website, and we did not want to show the book before the book was finished showing itself to us. The lettering on the spine changed three times. The Devanagari subtitle moved up, then down, then back. None of that belonged on a public page.

What belonged there was the one thing we were sure of: the name of the series, and the fact that it was coming.

The holding page is gone now. In its place is this site — the free opening of Book Zero in three languages, the editions, the app, and this journal. If you found the old page and wrote to us, thank you. Those letters were the first proof that anyone was waiting.

This note is in English only for now. Hindi and Marathi will follow when there is time to do them properly rather than quickly.
